The Perfect Nose is hosting another swap! This time, participants are asked to post their swap-able goodies by the end of September, then find one or more swapping partners in October. When posting their parcel, they are asked to include a postcard, the crazier the better! Sounds like fun, right? The rules are set out in more detail here.
After cleaning out my sewing room, I have decided to participate! I have not one, not two, but four Australian Home Journal magazines, with original patterns, that I would like to give a new home! I also have a whole bunch of sewing patterns I will be putting up another day.
I am after mainly top and dress patterns that are suitable for wearing to the office, vintage or otherwise, and preferably in a 34 bust. Also would love any Burda or other sewing magazines that include patterns. But if you are interested in anything I have to offer, just drop me a line, and I'm happy to have a look at whatever you are swapping! This should be fun! :)
So here we have:
This magazine includes what appear to be the complete patterns for the 4 designs on the front cover (2 adult frocks in a 34" Bust, girls frock for 8 year old, girls frock for 4 year old). It also includes recipes, knitting patterns for some children's toys, crochet instructions for a woman's blouse, and much more!
This magazine includes patterns for the 4 designs on the cover, but one piece is missing (front pattern piece for ballerina frock 5135). The patterns are a ballerina frock, 32" bust, 2 adult designs for 34" bust, and a child's pinafore for 4 year old. Also includes recipes, several knitting patterns for men and women, some wonderful colour illustrations, and much more!
This magazine from the early 60's contains the original patterns, in factory folds, for the 3 illustrated designs on the cover (frock for 40" bust, frock for 32" bust, and playsuit and skirt for 8 year old). Also includes recipes, knitting pattern for 2 women's tops, crochet patterns, some great colour illustrations and much more!
This magazine contains what appear to be complete patterns for the 4 designs on the front cover (ladies frock and suit for 36" bust, child's pinafore and overalls for 4 year old). The magazine contains recipes, knitting patterns including a number of women's tops, and much more! The front and back covers have separated from the magazine, but are included.
Let me know if you are interested in swapping with me, and include a link of your swap items if you have posted them!
I will be posting some patterns over the next couple weeks, so if you didn't see anything you liked here, please come back and look again later! ;)

Hi there! I just discovered your blog via The Perfect Nose and her great pattern swap! I'd be keen to swap for your December, 1957 Australian Home Journal. My swapping items are up here: http://poppethillroad.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/patterns-and-postcards.html
ReplyDeleteLet me know if anything takes your interest!
Oh wow, your December 1957 Home Journal looks amazing. I only just learned of the this swap and don't have anything on my blog yet, but if you let me know the types of patterns you are looking for I can dig through my stash and come up with something.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I should have finished reading your post first - I now see the kinds of patterns you are looking for. I will look through my stash this week. Is there an era that you prefer?
ReplyDeleteHi Annabelle! I'm afraid I'm just finalising a swap with Bohdana for the December 1957 journal!! But the other 3 are still up for grabs if you are interested? I'm not fussy as to era, just let me know when you post and I'd love to have a look at anything you have on offer!!
DeleteNo worries - I'm feeling really un-organized right now, so this may not be the best time for me to participate in a swap. I hope you are able to grab up some goodies in exchange for your lovely magazines.
DeleteHi there! I am happy to swap my Burda for your Home Journal 1953, or either of the others I am happy with too! If you still have all three is it possible to email pics of the knitting patterns? liz (dot) alexandre (at) gmail(dot)com. Also send me your address and we can start the swap!
ReplyDeleteHi, no problem, I will email you with the pictures and my address later today!

ReplyDeleteHi Beata!
ReplyDeleteI'd totally be interested in swapping all three left over!
I see you've only noted interest in two of mine though, so is there any other patterns you're particularly keen on atm? I might be convinced to part with some I haven't yet listed ;-)
Sorry for the tardy response too, been a little crazy of late!
